By creating an illusion of stagnant wealth, one in which rigid barriers are intrinsic, individuals with greater portions are deemed to have “an unfair share.” Thus, for proponents of this belief, the most economically “fair” recourse is achieved through the acquisition of gluttonous countrymen’s property; more specifically, their finances. And what better and more powerful (and unavoidable) institution to see this through than that of the government?
